1.Is cutting carbohydrates a good approach to weight control?
Instead of cutting carbs it is more beneficial to choose the type of carb you eat and the time in which you eat carbs. I personally do not eat carbs at dinner. Carbs are a source of energy for our body and we don't need energy at night hence we don't need carbs at dinner. Further more carbs are separated by good carbs and bad carbs. The amount of carbohydrates you consume is less important than the quality of the carbohydrate you consume. An example of a healthy carbohydrate = greens / veggies !

In general this is a healthy number to set for long term weight loss. In order to lose weight one must burn more calories than they intake. This 1.5 to 2 lbs. methods ensures you are still consuming enough calories for your body to function properly while also bruning enough calories to lose weight in a healthy manner.
4. How Many Calories are in 1 lb of fat?
3,500 calories = 1 lb. meaning you will need to have a total weekly deficit of 7,000 calories per week to lose lbs. Keep that in mind when ingesting a 800 calorie Chick Fil A sandwich instead of a 400 calorie and nutrient full salad !
