2019 Consistency + Mindfulness

Happy New Year Y’all !!!

So excited to go into 2019 with you all. As we welcomed in the New Year I saw a lot of posts referring to consistency. Is it truly possible to remain 100% CONSISTENT and goal driven for 365 days?

The answer is yes, it is absolutely possible. With the right MINDSET and routine you are the master of your fate. Power of mind delivers you power of the body. Your neurological system controls every ounce of your being, from hormone release to reflexes to internal communications.

The ability to control your mind is the power to control your world.

You see the same way you train your body, is the same practice one must apply when training your mind.

  1. Find a motivational speaker you relate to listen to them daily. Do you find yourself listening to music while getting ready? While working out? While driving to work? What if we replaced some of this time with personal evolution. Used this time to tune in and be inspired by some of the industries greatest influencers and motivators. my personal favorite is Eric Thomas ( @etthehiphoppreacher ).

  2. Read a book, we live in a culture where reading is nearly extinct. Which is very unfortunate because reading has all sorts of Brain benefits. Two of the most important being heightened brain function and increased memory. When we workout we don’t only workout once a month we workout continually to benefit our body. When we eat we don’t only eat once a week we eat daily to fuel our body, the same works with our brain. We must challenge and engage our mind to maintain and develop our brain health. Brain activity also decreases chance of Alzheimers and other neurodegenerative diseases.

  3. Fuel your brain properly. If you don’t know how, ASK ! A few examples include:

A few examples include:

1. Blueberries — improve focus and increase memory recall.

Eat them fresh, blended into a tea or smoothie, or mixed into oatmeal / yogurt.

2. Pumpkin seeds — are full of zinc, which plays an important role in cognition and memory.

Eat them as a snack, on top of a salad, simply toasted, or mixed into your favorite trail mix.

3. Fatty fish — Specifically salmon, try trout, herring and sardines. These fish are high in omega-3s. And DHA. Both of which are important in brain health, joint functioning and overall health.

Try them baked or broiled, in a wrap, or even for breakfast.
